Friends of St. Louise is affiliated with Valley Health Foundation, the 501c3 nonprofit fundraising arm for St. Louse Regional Hospital, O’Connor Hospital, and Santa Clara Valley Medical Center Hospital & Clinics. Valley Health Foundation is accredited under the Standards for Excellence Institute®: Ethics and Accountability Code for the Nonprofit Sector. This is the nation’s highest level of accreditation for nonprofit governance and ethics and is based on a rigorous assessment process that measures an organization’s honesty, integrity, fairness, respect, trust, responsibility, and accountability.
Will donations to Friends of St. Louise be used for purposes other than at St. Louise Regional Hospital?
No. All donations to Friend of St. Louise are restricted for use at St. Louise Regional Hospital exclusively. Valley Health Foundation maintains over 17 restricted funds benefiting unique departments, clinics, and programs at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center, O’Connor Hospital, and St. Louise Regional Hospital. As such, Valley Health Foundation has strict procedures in place to ensure that all donations are used in accordance with donor intent for their intended purpose. Valley Health Foundation is governed by a community-based Board of Directors and is audited annually in accordance with state and federal law.
Can donations to Friends of St. Louise be designated for a specific use?
Yes. A donor may restrict the use of their donation for a special purpose, or to benefit a specific department at St. Louise Regional Hospital.
