Celebrating Cindy Chavez: A Legacy of Service

Official Going Away Party for Cindy Chavez, presented by Valley Health Foundation

November 8, 2024, 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., Notre Dame High School, San Jose

What's Happening

San Jose has been my home for 42 years. This beautiful, diverse city has given me so much—an education, a family, and a career dedicated to service.

Reflecting on my decades of work, I am proud of what we have accomplished together. From creating a universal health insurance program for children to securing billions for affordable housing and guiding our County through the worst public health crisis of our lifetime, I have been humbled to work alongside dedicated public servants, community leaders, and regular folks striving to make a difference.

So, as I prepare for my next chapter in New Mexico, I invite you to come to celebrate all that we have accomplished together.

On Friday, November 8, please join me at Notre Dame High School in Downtown San Jose to mark my retirement from the Santa Clara County Board of Supervisors. The event is from 5 to 8 p.m. and is free to attend. Please register in advance.

In community,

Cindy Chavez

Help Cindy Leave a Legacy

As a final gift to her community, Cindy wants to do more than just celebrate at her retirement event. She has set an ambitious goal of raising $42,000 (commemorating 42 years in San Jose) for Valley Health Foundation to support healthcare access for ALL Santa Clara County residents. Please consider a gift with your registration.

Thank you for strengthening Valley Health Foundation's capacity to support the health of underserved, at risk, and vulnerable members of our communities by sustaining essential services and programs.
