Valley Health Foundation was delighted to honor past-patient 6-year-old Parker and one of her exceptional physicians, Dr. Katherine Thomas, at our 2024 Bloom Energy Tarana Wireless 5K/10K Run on June 29, 2024.

Valley Health Foundation warmly welcomed students from Breakthrough Silicon Valley to a career exploration day with physicians and staff at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center on July 17, 2024. A group of students from local high schools met with these physicians to gain “firsthand” insight into a career in medicine.

Unhoused patients often lack basic essentials, which is vital in helping them manage their health. In response to this need, Valley Health Foundation helped secure a District 3 URJGENT grant through the Office of Santa Clara County Supervisor Otto Lee to provide unhoused patients with weather-appropriate clothing and essentials.

Valley Health Foundation was excited to support a recent effort spearheaded by Patricia Brady and her Medical Social Workers team to renovate an old basketball court on the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center campus. The court is located by the Barbara Arons Pavilion and open to all staff and patients.

The Independence Day holiday kicks off early with the 4th Annual Bloom Energy and Tarana Wireless Stars and Strides Run, a 5K-10K run/walk and Kids Fun Run that benefits the Valley Health Foundation. This fun-for-all-ages event takes place in Discovery Meadow in Downtown San Jose.

Turning Wheels for Kids, in partnership with East Valley Clinic, will host a free bike repair clinic on Saturday, June 22nd, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), the public hospital system for the County of Santa Clara, has unveiled a new ambulance fleet to significantly improve transport times between its three hospitals and 16 clinics. The ambulance program was supported by donations from the community thanks to the efforts of The Friends of St. Louise Advisory Board, a part of Valley Health Foundation.

“Sentia” is a 30-foot-tall freestanding kinetic sculpture, created by renowned German artist Christian Moeller, that acts as a symbol of welcome and hope for expectant parents, families, and youth at the Santa Clara Valley Medical Center's Susanne B. Wilson Women and Children’s Center (WCC).

Funding for “Sentia” (sen-TEE-uh) came from the generous donors of Valley Health Foundation.

The Bloom Energy and Tarana Wireless Stars and Strides 5K-10K Run/Walk is now open for registration! This event will take place in Downtown San Jose at Discovery Meadow on Saturday, June 29, 2024. All proceeds benefit the Valley Health Foundation. Your participation provides resources that support Valley Health Foundation’s ability to offer programs and services that positively impact the health of everyone in our community, including the most vulnerable and underserved.
