How We Help

Transgender, Non-binary and Gender Diverse (TGD) Services Program

In partnership with the County of Santa Clara Behavioral Services Department, VHF is preparing to launch a new program to provide services and supports to underserved populations, including Transgender, Non-binary and Gender Diverse community members.

This program is funded through the California Mental Health Services Act (MHSA) Innovation Fund to develop new and innovative approaches to meet the following objectives:

  • Foster collaboration with community partners to create a network that will help increase community trust, including for the TGD community
  • Increase a sense of belonging through events, activities and spaces that are tailored to the needs of individuals who are underserved, including TGD individuals
  • Reduce the rates of isolation, rejection, and persecution experienced by the TGD community
  • Increase engagement and access to services for individuals who are underserved, including TGD individuals, with the County’s behavioral health system of care
  • Increase the TGD community’s trust in accessing local providers for assistance
  • Provide meaningful and timely resources and mental health services to individuals who are underserved, including TGD individuals.

Please sign up for alerts about this program, including job announcements for this program team, opportunities to provide input on program design, and future events and activities. For questions about this developing program, please email us at TGDServices@vhfca.org.
