The Independence Day holiday kicks off early with the 4th Annual Bloom Energy and Tarana Wireless Stars and Strides Run, a 5K-10K run/walk and Kids Fun Run that benefits the Valley Health Foundation. This fun-for-all-ages event takes place in Discovery Meadow in Downtown San Jose.

Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), the public hospital system for the County of Santa Clara, has unveiled a new ambulance fleet to significantly improve transport times between its three hospitals and 16 clinics. The ambulance program was supported by donations from the community thanks to the efforts of The Friends of St. Louise Advisory Board, a part of Valley Health Foundation.

In 2022, the Medical Staff of Santa Clara Valley Healthcare initiated a Clinician Wellness Task Force to address the deepening crisis of burnout among clinicians. Burnout among clinicians is a national problem. According to an article published in the Journal of the American Medical Association in 2022, the rates of clinician burnout went from 40% pre-pandemic to 60% during the pandemic and has not improved.
