Michael Elliott

Michael Elliott is the President & Executive Director of Valley Health Foundation (VHF), supporting Northern California's largest public healthcare system. Michael joined the Foundation in 2007 and served in various roles, including Director of Program Development and Chief Operating Officer.  In 2022, the VHF Board of Directors appointed him to his current role.

During his tenure at the Foundation, Michael has led major capital campaigns, managed multi-million-dollar grant projects, and played a pivotal role in local COVID-19 response efforts.  Michael believes a public healthcare system that serves all residents is essential to the entire region's health and vitality.  

Before joining the Foundation, Michael was a community organizer with Working Partnership USA and an AmeriCorps member with City Year San Jose/Silicon Valley. Michael serves on the Board of Directors of Healthier Kids Foundation and volunteers as a youth soccer referee. A native of Santa Cruz, Michael lives in San Jose with his wife Jessica, a public-school teacher, and their two daughters.

Michael is a Senior Fellow of the American Leadership Forum Silicon Valley, a recipient of the City Year National Leadership Award, and the “40 under 40” Award from the Silicon Valley Business Journal.
